| | | | | | | | | BLAST Inc.Recently I had the pleasure of meeting a very talented group of people. They are the cast members of Blast. I truly recommend that if you get the chance, to see them LIVE while they are on their USA tour, which opened in Peoria Illinois, on Sept. 4th 2001.
"A rousing, non stop mix of spectacle and sound. A terrific good time." - The Chicago Tribune
"It rocks the theater with the thrill of sheer virtuosity." - Boston Globe

| | | | | | | | | | | Blast the Show "Blast!" takes the tunes of Ravel, Copland, Barber and others and brass-tardizes them into what appears to be the world's largest game of musical chairs, played out against a "Hollywood Squares"-like stack of percussion-packed sets. What begins as a single drummer announcing the beat of "Bolero" turns into a mishmash of musical idioms (techno, New Age, jazz lite and world) and Starburst flavors and costumes. There are color-coded segments ("Color Wheel," "Color Wheel Too"), recalling the now-familiar rite of breaking the Olympic rings into ribboning flights of fabric and frounce.

| | | | | | | | | The MasthouseFor 30 years, folk music performers and folk music aficionados have gathered at an unassuming white wood frame house on Woodstock's Calhoun street to sing, laugh and share their love of music. The Masthouse.....provides a stage, a room and a highly receptive audience for folk musicians of all levels. ....... ""The Masthouse motto is "Music Alone Shall Live""
The Masthouse was a monthly gathering place which provided a unique venue where participants could grow in experience and skill; where music, art, and community come together in an atmosphere of encouragement, acceptance, and diversity. |

| | | | | | | | | Aly & AJ MichalkaAly & AJ’s brand of melodic rock is refreshingly unique in today’s musical landscape, harkening back to a time when rock music ruled the radio with giants like Heart and Fleetwood Mac while still evoking modern day themes. In a review of their sold-out Los Angeles tour stop, the Los Angeles Times quipped, “…blending their voices in tart harmonies and favoring a folk rock sound somewhere between Avril Lavigne and Fleetwood Mac.” On their debut CD, Into the Rush the multitalented duo prove they’re close in spirit and in heart. --- For those requesting additional prints or those wanting a print of any of the other images in this collection should Please contact Bruce via our New York office at 1-917-668-3566

| | | | | | | | | Tall Ship FestivalNavy Pier proudly welcomed more than 20 majestic and historic tall ships from around the world. For the first time in Chicago, a tall ships festival of this size will be located in one place: Navy Pier. Visitors can view all of them, board up to 12 of the vessels, and even take daily sails aboard five of the tall ships. The pageantry kicked-off with an opening day Parade of Sail on Lake Michigan. As these storied ships with their billowing sails make their way to Navy Pier's docks, they'll form the perfect backdrop for the official Opening Ceremony. Ships were docked in three Festival locations at Navy Per: Nautical Mile (North Dock), Canada Cove (NW Wall at the front of the Pier) and America Alley (SW Wall at the front of the Pier). Although the tall ships are the "stars" of our festival, the event also offered fun activities for kids at the Children's Village, international entertainment at three festival stages, and nightly fireworks shows.

It starts off the mouth of the Chicago River in Chicago, crosses Lake Michigan, barely enters Lake Huron, and finishes in the Round Island Channel, off Mackinac Island, Michigan. The race course runs 333 mi (536 km). Roy E. Disney set the monohull record, 23 hours, 30 minutes, in Pyewacket in 2002. Sailors who have completed 25 of these annual races are called Island Goats. In 1959, The Island Goats Sailing Society was formed with 10 of these sailors and By 2008, the society had grown to 270 members in good standing. |
